Teen Mom 2: The Beginning of the End

Jenelle, Jenelle, Jenelle… it really looks like she has lost total control over her life. On last night’s episode, things looked hopeful when we saw Jenelle agree to pay child support for Jace, but on the ride home from social services she began screaming at her mom.

Jenelle has no idea how to communicate when she feels stressed; like a little kid, the first thing she does is start screaming. We see this happen again and again in the episode (and in many of the previous episodes). Not surprisingly, she is always arguing with Keiffer. Is it just me or does she rarely seem happy? Did you know that children born as a result from unplanned pregnancy are at greater risk of having mothers and fathers who suffer from depression and relationship conflict? It certainly seems true in Jenelle’s case. What do you think is really making her upset?

Things get really crazy when she is fighting with her friend/roommate, Tori…the argument comes out of nowhere. I was shocked to see how fast things got ugly. Jenelle says she’s moving out of the house that day and as she tries to pack her stuff, she continues to argue with Tori. The argument soon turns from screaming to a physical fight. Even Keiffer and Tori’s boyfriend get involved. Did you expect for the fight to turn out so ugly? Does Jenelle have a right to be mad at all these people? I think the scariest part came right after the fight. Jenelle is sitting on the bed, screaming on the top of her lungs telling everyone to leave her alone. I was really freaked out watching this. We have seen this before, but this time just seemed a lot more intense. Do you think that Jenelle has reached her breaking point? Will she ever be able to get her life on track? And what must it be like for Jace to have a mom who is so emotionally unstable?

The other three moms obviously had their own issues to deal with during the episode. Kailyn now has to go to court and fight Jo’s appeal to lower the monthly child support. Were Jo’s accusations against Kailyn justified? Was Kailyn smart to get a lawyer? It seems crazy that someone so young is dealing with issues like child support, court dates, and hiring a lawyer. Hopefully this time in court will go better than their past meetings. Kailyn and Jo always seem to be moving forward, but then something happens to bring them back into the past.

Kailyn and Jo are trying to keep their relationship on good terms, but that seems impossible for another teen mom:  Chelsea. Adam has officially told her that he no longer likes her and wants to break up… like we didn’t see that coming. Chelsea can’t really handle the news and is thankful she is starting her job so she can be distracted. Although her first day went well, she can’t help but think of Adam and feel lonely. What does Chelsea have to do to get over Adam? Chelsea might finally have to come to terms that Aubree will be part of the 40% of children born from an unplanned pregnancy who live with mothers but not their fathers.

Leah and Corey are the only set of parents in Teen Mom 2 that are not only still together, but are married. But even being married doesn’t rid them of all the stresses of teen parenting. Leah is ready to move out of her current home because she just isn’t happy there anymore. Her two daughters deserve better. Corey, on the other hand, thinks they should stay where they are and save money until they can afford a real home. He is focused on getting a coal mining job… and a truck. They both think they are making the best decisions for the family, but can’t seem to agree at all. Who do you think is right? Is just getting out of the current home more important or is saving up money and eventually buying an even nicer home the best decision?
