The Answer Everyone Has Been Looking For: Looks or Personality in a Relationship?

For many years, people have always asked, “Would you rather date someone who is really hot but has a terrible personality, or would you rather date someone not nearly as hot but has an awesome personality?” This question is so difficult to answer in general terms because each person has a different preference. Because this is the case, I will try to answer this highly subjective question in a way that is hopefully most accurately represents the majority of the population. As a start, good looks are of course preferable; however, a good personality is vital in a relationship.

A Crush is Just a Crush

This is Valentine’s week and it’s got me thinking about crushes. Crushes are wonderful yet horrible things.  You like someone so much that it brightens your day to see them but it ruins it if they happen to ignore you.  My last real crush was on a boy at school named Jason.*  He was cute, smart, and of course he made me laugh: in short, he was a classic triple threat to any girl in the 8th grade.  Back in the day I thought the crush was mutual.  At the time school was coming to an end and it seemed like everyone was confessing their undying love to someone.  One night we were chatting on AIM (the text message of the early 2000s) about our homework and it finally came out: he told me he had a really big crush…on my best friend.

Teen Mom 2: A Not So Happy Ending

I can’t believe the season is already over and the final episode was filled with plenty of drama.

Valentine's Day: Under Pressure

Valentine’s day is here, and as my friends put it, “The pressure’s on.”  February 14th is a day filled with love and romance for many people, but it’s also the worst day of the year to be single. Which is why, for single teens like me, the previous statement is especially true. The pressure to find a valentine is definitely on. When you think about it, this day is filled with pressure for teens, single or not.

Sometimes No Is the Best Answer

Rejection: it hurts. No one likes hearing the word “no” come out of anyone’s mouth, especially from a boyfriend or girlfriend. But those two letters could be the reason you don’t become pregnant or contract an STI. No matter how hard or uncomfortable it is, we need to know it’s okay to say no to sex. Teens must think twice before having sex, because once it’s done, there is no going back.

Teen Mom 2: Failing

This week’s episode started off with a bang so let’s just jump into it.

Teen Mom 2: Episode 10

This episode was filled with lots of drama and one of my favorite couples, Leah and Corey, is having major issues. Throughout Teen Mom 2, Leah and Corey are the only parents who stay together. We have seen them go through ups and downs, but this looks like a fight that they just can’t get over.

Teen Mom 2: The Beginning of the End

Jenelle, Jenelle, Jenelle… it really looks like she has lost total control over her life. On last night’s episode, things looked hopeful when we saw Jenelle agree to pay child support for Jace, but on the ride home from social services she began screaming at her mom.

Say What!!! Double Standards Are Not For Me…

I do agree that guys and girls are expected to behave differently in a relationship. I feel that in relationships girls are expected to be kind, emotional, and lenient. They are expected to “ride or die” for their boyfriends no matter what. Guys are expected to be brave, protective, the provider, and the one in charge in the relationship. If a guy cheats, his girlfriend is expected to forgive and forget and stick with him. Whether you decide to live up to the double standard or not, it is difficult especially when you are involved in a relationship.

Teen Mom 2: Making Moves

During last night’s episode of Teen Mom 2, it looked like all the moms are facing big challenges and are making lots of changes. With a couple of moms discussing moving and one looking for a job, these moms never get the chance to just relax.
